Dickens' Hard Times

Dickens' Hard Times

20th November 2012

To celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Charles Dickens in 2012, Nick Ellis will be performing 'Hard Times' at theatre venues across the UK and we are very excited to have been chosen as one of these venues.

Following on from his successful tour of 'Pirate Jenny' Nick Ellis becomes the many voices of 'Hard Times', including the retentive Gradgrind and the overbearing Mr Bounderby.

A seasoned musician and performer Nick delivers the story backed up by his own images and his own original music.

In this magnificent story, Dickens changed the course of British social history, throwing a light on today's 'hard times'.

This is a ‘ one night only’ performance for us, with limited numbers. It will be performed in our wonderfully atmospheric Judge’s Dining Room. There will special seasonal refreshments available around our huge Christmas tree and in front of a roaring fire - what better way to kick off your festive season in real Dickensian style!

Tickets are £12 for adults and £6 for under sixteens.   Performance starts at 7pm and finishes around 9pm, with an interval.
