The name given to the tight trousers worn by some Regency gentlemen, such as the notorious Beau Brummell and his ‘dandy’ followers, as they showed off their leg muscles.
Lines from Dunkirk
Lines from Dunkirk is an original, illustrated presentation researched and written by Roger W G Curtis.
Roger and a cast of local voice actors will tell, on the 85th Anniversary, the true stories behind the evacuation of troops from Dunkirk in May/June 1940. It will include performance of a relevant section taken from Junction X – a radio play by Cecil McGivern first broadcast in March 1944.
Mention will be made of just some of those from Powys and Herefordshire who served in France – some of whom made it back to Britain. Also of how exhausted and wounded soldiers were brought to Norton and Kington.
Roger recently presented Held in Presteigne, the Story of POW Camp No 48. All proceeds went to the Day Centre and Home Support Team run by East Radnorshire Care in Presteigne.
All proceeds will go to the museum Tickets from https://wegottickets.com/event/659112
